What Is Advanced Implant Surgery?

Placing an implant requires sufficient bone volume and gum tissue. After tooth extraction, bone loss may mean that implant placement is not always possible. Especially after teeth lost at an early stage or because of trauma, sufficient bone and keratinised gum tissue may be missing. A standard implant requires at least 10 mm of bone height and 5 mm of bone width. It is also important that there is a sufficient amount of gum around the implants. Gum tissue plays a critical role in achieving pink aesthetics, maintaining oral hygiene, and preventing gum recession and bone loss.

Advanced implant surgery is a treatment process that aims to replace the bone and gum tissue missing for dental implant placement using various methods. The purpose of this approach is to create a sufficient amount of bone and gum tissue around the site so that the implants can be placed in the most ideal location and position.
